Many more "First Times"

Well, we have almost completed our first year of being parents. Logan will be turning 1 in June. Where did the time go? It seems like we were just planning for his arrival, and now we are planning for his FIRST Birthday.

I know that we are going to have so many "First" as the years go on. We just went and had his FIRST haircut. We were nervous but he did very well. And his haircut turned out great. But celebrating his FIRST birthday may be one of the hardest ones.

How I love Saturday mornings, when we lay in bed and cuddle while watching Tom and Jerry. I hope these mornings never go away. It was so exciting to see him crawl for the FIRST time. Then to see him stand for the FIRST time. And then, the most precious of all, when he said DaDa for the FIRST time.

My husband and I look forward to being there for all of his FIRST. As I know his grandparents do too. It is so amazing to watch our little guy grow. It will be even more amazing to watch him grow into a man. He will always make us proud, as he has done since we first laid eyes on him.

As we plan for his FIRST birthday, we wonder how we are going to celebrate this occassion. Since this is our FIRST, ideas are flowing, but not sure which direction to go in. I do know that this will be one of the best birthdays we will have. Not only are we celebrating Logan's FIRST, but our FIRST year as parents.

So, to my husband, Michael, congrats on making it through your FIRST year as being a dad. You are one of the best and I am proud and thankful for all that you do. And, congrats to my myself, for being able to maintain my sanity between it all. Being a working mother is challenging, but worth every bit of it.

Every parent deserves to celebrate every FIRST that their child(ren) accomplish. So, cheers to each and every one of you.
